Please don’t make Michigan it’s own country.

We’re screwed as it is. We don’t need anything to push along our demise lol.

Please don’t make Michigan it’s own country.

We’re screwed as it is. We don’t need anything to push along our demise lol.

make sure same-sex marriage stays annulled/illegal/whatever.

try to improve the U.S. education system : make it more challenging…especially in the math & sciences area…so we can be as competitive as foreign countries and try to ensure more funding for lower income families…so they can send their kids to college…programs to reach out to them (especially URMs)…

Try to end the genocide that’s going on in Darfur.

End the War in Iraq & Afganistan.

Make abortion illegal. (probably wouldnt be able to do that? idk…)

More!

^ Yes. Let’s keep love illegal. Makes perfect sense to me in a world where there is already not enough hate .

Um, our education system includes everyone. In most other countries, secondary education is only reserved for the best.

And why make same-sex marriage illegal, and abortion? What happens in the case of rape?

^ Rape would be an exception…of course.

You never said that.
Secondly, why should it be an exception? I’ll never understand that. Is a baby somehow worth less if it is the product of a rape? That is essentially what you’re saying.

^ it depends, really on the situation.

Personally I’d just give the baby up for adoption…since the baby to me, IMO would be a painful reminder of how i got raped & it’s product, the baby. (would be even worse if the baby resembled its father so…yeahhh).

I understand. I’ve been raped and I couldn’t live with that. But I’ll NEVER understand why pro-life people think it’s OK to have an abortion for rape. Why is it THEN ok to kill a baby? Is it somehow LESS of a baby?

(I am 100% pro-choice btw. In case it wasn’t obvious.)

^ My viewpoint: An abortion is no different from killing a baby. If we are dealing with a situation so serious that that would be justified, well, then we have to make a tough choice.

^^ you have a vaild point. I’m pro-life as well.

But again, if she got raped i think it’s up to the mom’s disgression. But i don’t think it would be very wise though…

Oh, and i’m sorry to hear that I hope it hasn’t scarred u for life…and uve moved on? I knew this one girl (kinda a friend) from middle school that was abused by her step-dad :[ Again, i’m sorry to hear that…

^ I’ll still never understand. An abortion is all the same, no matter what the reason. To say it’s OK for one situation and not another means that a baby is worth more in one case than the other.

/my discussion on this

I think you mis-read. I am pro-CHOICE.

And it has scared me in some ways but not others. Physically, yes. Emotionally, probably. But mentally it’s made me stronger in many ways. Nothing for you to be sorry about. It is what it is.

That’s a good point. I guess I’ve always been influenced by my pro-choice friends.

I’d try to help the country switch to alternate energy sources. Relying on oil which: 1. will run out in a few years, 2. pollutes the environment, and 3. Makes the US rely on oil supplying countries, is stupid if you ask me. What’s wrong with trying to switch now? I mean I know the economy’s bad and everything but who says it will be any better in the future?

^^^ ohhh my bad …i mis-read it hahahaha.

wow…all of our viewpoints are completely the opposite.

But killing a life is…wrong, no?

/discussion.

^Lol they are.

Energy reform, it’s time to build up that energy industry. Bringing out the new cars.

^ Yes. It’s wrong (hence, why I’m anti-war and anti-death penalty). We differ on what defines life. I define it as anything that’s taken a breath. YMMV.

And yes. We are exactly the opposite. In pretty much every way. Except that we both bleed red.

I wonder who would abuse the executive orders?

Okay, I realize this all couldn’t actually happen and Congress makes law, but what I would TRY to do:

-Allow same-sex marriages and rights for LGBT community, repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell
-Abolish the death penalty
-Legalize marijuana and heavily tax it
-Decriminalize other drugs
-■■■■ of Iraq (I don’t know about Afghanistan…)
-Teach sex-education in schools, allow distribution of birth control and actually have kids learn about sex–not just abstinence–so the teen (and unwanted) pregnancy rate goes down
-Be stricter on environmental standards and try to figure out the quickest and most efficient energy source to use, for both environmental AND economic reasons
-Allow stem cell research to go on, fund more…
-Education: Make sure every kid gets a great education and can achieve to the highest possible. How? Money should never be a hindrance, so make sure there isn’t some huge disparity between public schools. And shout, I realize I have federal, not local, control but I would URGE URGE local districts to establish socioeconomic (not racial) integration into schools, even if that means busing (and with this, the options of school choice).

Hm…there are obviously more, but I can’t think of them right now.

Good ideas there, I just realized that my district buses people to schools, since we have school choice and specialty programs. Except now they’re trying to stop buses because we’re low on funds.

I’d resign, I would NEVER want to be President…
