IGETC AREA 8?

<p>I'm looking on assist, and there is an area I've literally never seen before. It's not listed on my school's IGETC pattern on their homepage, or on the Berkeley update for IGETC breadth requirements. Also, my counselor never brought this up. Is this really necessary? It doesn't even say how many courses must be taken from it..I'm a little confused right now.</p>

<p>If it’s not on the IGETC form which your school certifies don’t worry about it!</p>

<p>I’m so confused right now. Do you need it for your school? Plus, on the UC site, it says there are only 6 areas.</p>

<p>On assist there is an Area 8 for yours as well, so the assist page must just be listing old information. Take a look if you want. That makes me feel a lot better though. Thanks Matt</p>

<p>This is what I got on Assist 3 times</p>

<p>But even if there is a magical 8th area it doesn’t matter because CCC’s are only using (for UC’s) the 6 areas and they will certify that you have met those 6 areas nothing more is required guaranteed. </p>
