IGETC Certification for OOS?

I was wondering if an out of state student can get IGETC certified. For example, on the FAQs on Berkeley's transfer web page, it states "students will not be considered for admission unless they complete the IGETC courses." I followed the assist.org website and modeled a schedule as if I was attending Santa Monica College and tried to replicate it as close as I could with the courses available in my OOS CC. I also went on igetc.org and picked out the classes according the individual areas so I feel confident that I did pick the correct courses. Anyways could I be certified or can I make a mention of this somewhere on the app?

Also I'm familiar with the TAP program but what's TAG? I'm guessing this only applies to CCC students...right?

IGETC only applies for transfers from California Community Colleges. You cannot be IGETC certified by an out of state community college. If you want to take advantage of this opportunity then you will need to attend a CCC and not an OOS CC.

IGETC is not necessary for transfer and, in some cases, is recommended against depending on your intended major. All of the UCs have a general education requirement for transfer that you can follow instead of IGETC. I highly recommend talking to a counselor at the UCs you are interested in, however, to make sure you know what will transfer. Assist.org will only help you with CCCs.

TAG: Transfer Agreement Guarantee. It is guaranteed admission into a UC if one meets the conditions of the agreement. UCLA and UCB do not use TAG. TAG is more common than TAP at CCCs.
