IGETC Partial Certification

Hi guys,
I'll probably transfer to either UCSB or UCSD with partial IGETC certification. I'm missing ONE class from the Biological Science section and I was wondering if anyone has been in this position and transfered to a UC with partial IGETC and ended up taking MORE classes to fulfill that one missing section. I heard that you'll have to take about three extra classes for one missing igetc course at the UC you go to. Please share your stories or any knowledge of this. Thank you in advance! :-)

Is it okay to have partial IGETC for UCSB?? I have partial IGETC and freaking out that I will get rescinded…

I thought you’ve made up your mind on UCSB?

@ddongxboi

Did you tell them you would be IGETC certified.

This thread is 5 months old.

way to revive a old thread :(

nice one

Hi guys. LOL It’s an old thread. I’m set on UCSB. But heres the thing: I have to take one extra course at UCSB for the one IGETC class I’m missing. Not bad.

Wow I did not think anyone would reply. So I won’t get rescinded for having partial IGETC certification? I am also going to attend UCSB and found out that my community college only gave me a partial IGETC certification…

@LAforLife I don’t remember telling them whether I will have it complete or not.

Hm can you log back into you UC APPLICATION and check to see if you told them u have partial igetc and not full.

Acoustickitty123 is right. You can log back into your UC application to see what you put. It would only be a problem if you said you would.

I put that I would have full IGETC certification. What do you think will happen? I will probably call tomorrow and tell them the situation… Thanks @acoustickitty123 and @LAforlife I appreciate the help!!

Call and find out to see what happens, that’s all you can really do. Also, double check to make sure if you did in fact meet IGETC. You might have completed with other classes without noticing.

@ddong: Anytime  LA is right. Call and ask because they know the correct answer. Good luck :)

Lol you guys are still replying?

@ddong the answer to your question: yes partial IGETC is acceptable, mine was acceptable

@Fred: Lol I want to help out. His question wasn’t only if partial igetc is ok. He didn’t know if he stated on the application if he completed it or not so he was worrying about getting resigned.

Today I talked to Admissions at UCSB and my CC. SB said that it doesn’t really matter what I put on my application, because its not a criteria that they look at when we apply. I just have to turn in my high school transcripts if I have partial IGETC. Also I found out that I did have full IGETC and I told my cc so hopefully they make the corrections. Thanks @LAforlife for telling me to double check, and also everyone for your guys advice!!!

Nice! I’m glad you did check. Good luck to you!
