I plan on applying to a Big 10 school, and these are my top 3 options. And since I won't be able to visit them, I want to hear some opinions. I've read numerous college books and watched theu.com videos and they are all very similar.

I want to major in media studies or sports administration, and minor in business. I may major in business if the school's program is amazing.

Indiana/PSU, Illinois. Illinois is in a crappy town that is flat and ugly. Only 10% are OOS and the place is kinda dull really. IU and PSU are close in quality and in nicer college towns. PSU is mostly east coasters.

illinois is certainly more prestigious than the other two choices and has a better party scene. i cant really think of anything the other two have over uiuc...except maybe location...but it is great for a college town

Illinois is certainly more prestigious?? Maybe in Illinois. PSU's Smeal college of business is well respected.

OP, you can get all kinds of opinions but I don't think you are going to find too many people that know all three schools well, know the schools majors that you are interested in and have the same priorites as you. I think the schools are similar enough that you might just think about the area of the country you want to live in and just apply to two of them. You really don't need to eliminate any schools right now do you, since you won't be applying anywhere for another 6 months, right?

Well I'm applying to ASU in July, but that's the earliest I'm applying. So yes...I don't have to eliminate one right now, but I still would like to know as much information about the schools. I'll probably just check into their school websites more.

one thing to think about is where you might want to live when you graduate.
PSU, for example, is not really close to any big city - but it IS in shooting distance of NY, Philly, Pittsburgh, Wash DC, and Baltimore. You'll find alumni in each of these cities (all 3 hours or so away) and lots of job opportunities too. My friend's daughter at Smeal just landed a summer internship at Merrill Lynch and Goldman and Morgan Stanley were also out doing interviews. So do you aspire to be an east coaster?

Penn State doesnt have a Sports Mgmt major.S is doing that major now and we looked at PSU to see if they had it. Indiana does have it.Dont know about Illinois.

Well I actually I want to live in LA, San Diego, or Miami, but I wouldn't mind getting started on the East Coast, and eventually transferring.

I'm pretty sure I want to major in business (most likely finance), and double minor in media studies and sports management. I also am interested in meteorology.

I just really like the idea of going to a Big 10 college, so if I go out of state I want the school to be amazing. Right now I'm for sure applying to Penn State, but I can't decide between Illinois and Indiana.

I don't know what is better for me...any thoughts?

Between Illinois or Indiana go with Indiana. The business school is better, in my opinion, and the campus life is great. The campus is gorgeous. It is simply a neat experience. Plus, with the amazing music school you have all sorts of performances every single night.

There is absoultly no school that can compare to PSU in partys. Yesterday we clebrated "STATE" Pattrick's Dat since the real holiday falls over spring break and we did not want to miss out.

I probably would support that about Penn State, as my niece unfortunately found out with her horrible first semester GPA! Settling down now, but still loving "State". I don't think you will lack for parties at UI or IU, though.
