My prospective major is Finance, so is Indiana's b-school a better choice.....or is Penn State's prestige worth more?

Bloomington vs. State College: Which city offers more to do? Which has more restaurants, bars, clubs, movie theaters...etc.?

Which school has the bigger party atmosphere? Indiana (#4 on Playboy....or PSU (#2 on Princeton Review)

I'm all about athletics so school spirit, big time sports, and intermurals are a must. Which school is bigger on this. My favorite sports to watch are football(#1), basketball, soccer, and volleyball. For intermurals, I plan to play soccer and ultimate frisbee. Which school seems like a better option?

And overall student body.....Is everyone happy, nice, fun, and laid-back? Which school is better for this?

And which school has hotter girls...IU or PSU???

I would have to say PSU, it has such a great campus, and the people are awesome. Their sports are amazing, everyone is so supportive, especially with their football. (Coming from one of their biggest fans.) =)

There is a ton to do at Penn State, it's just an awesome experience. PSU is also one of the biggest party schools out there.

(No, I don't go there, my mom did, but I just love it, hah.)

Now, where are you getting this from that IU is better in business than PSU? Don't tell me US News, because that information is very misleading and inexact.

"Which city offers more to do? Which has more restaurants, bars, clubs, movie theaters...etc.?"
Both are small college towns, I think Bloomington is a little bigger. Both are going to be similar in terms of things to do off campus.

Football is big at Penn State, while basketball is huge at Indiana. Again, they are similar in terms of athletics.

Both are big party schools.

They are very similar academically. You are going to have to visit both schools, because in terms of prestige, they are almost identical.

Also, don't put any weight into the US News ratings, they are extremely subjective.

You might want to apply to Ohio State too. It has all of the things that you seem to be looking for and would given you another option.

Thanks for the opinions. US News ratings will not have any influence on my college decision. I have just always heard that IU's b-school is better.

Worried Student - I don't want to add more colleges to my list, considering I already have 3 safeties. I'm just trying to find out which school, out of PSU and Indiana, is a better fit for me, but I guess they are pretty much equal.

Since I'm a junior I have time, but I won't visit the schools unless they are my top choices, and I have been accepted.

"Bloomington vs. State College: Which city offers more to do? Which has more restaurants, bars, clubs, movie theaters...etc.?"

State College has a more active night-life than Bloomington. If fraternities aren't your thing, there are plenty of bars, clubs, etc. in Happy Valley.

If FB is your main thing - then PSU is your school (PSU, while improving, has been a lower rung B10 BB program). With regard to FB and BB at IU, it's the polar opposite.

IU is a national power in soccer and PSU is a national power in volleyball.
