Hello. How is everyone? I really need your help. I’m now currently in my 2nd semester of my junior year of high school and i want to attend CCNY. my average for 9th and 10th grade was an 88.57 and currently my average for my junior year is an 85.50. I was planning to raise my average this year but I’ve had a couple of family issues which had a very large impact on me this year which made me go down. i was reading a couple of forums, here and there and they said 11th grade is the year which colleges look at very closely. I’m so scared because that could affect me in such a manner in which i wont get accepted. Does anyone have any tips that i should use or tell me guidance counselor to help me? please and thank you so much.
Don’t freak out; the average you are worried about is still a solid B. Use the remainder of the year to finish up strong and pick up a prep book for the ACT or SAT to help max out your scores. If there is an essay requirement, use that to explain your circumstances. With a good finish and strong test scores, you should still be a very competitive applicant. Just be sure to apply to some of the SUNY campuses or other fallback options in case you do need a backup plan. Good luck!
I’m planning to get a 1280/1600 on my SAT
