I'm I selfish for wanting to go to Cal? WARNING: Lots of drama!

That’s what you said about my Disneyland post @CollegeDropout1‌ :-bd

@lindyk8 Yeah, I didn’t think Disneyland would cause so much commotion. It wasn’t anything controversial like this this thread.

Disneyland is highly controversial! Minnie was seen hanging out at Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride after dark, and mickie went ballistic! They started fighting and ended up in the Teacups. Goofy tried to jump in to protect Mickie. Then Captain Hook got pissed because everyone was beating up Mr Toad.

Donald Duck heard about the fight, and he brought his whole posse of Huey Dewey and Louie. Daisy came too and she brought all the Disney princesses. They all fought throughout the entire park- they had to shut Space Mountain down!

And all this happened cuz Minnie was 2-timing mickie. Tramp!

First: how did you get her pregnant (or how do people get chicks pregnant in general)? Do you not use a condom or it broke? (Out of curiosity since so many people are getting preggos- not to attack you or anything)
Second: girlfriends are temporary, education is forever. A girlfriend won’t get you manage position unless she has legit connections. A degree will.
Third: women having kids with men actively serving in the military can manage. I’m not saying that education long distance is the same as military, but they both are long distance.

Completion of a bachelor’s degree takes less time than completion of a military enlistment contract, and a college student has more flexibility in arranging visits to a spouse/SO/kid than a military servicemember does.

In any case, if there is a kid, and it is the OP’s, the OP should show her this:
https://career.berkeley.edu/Major/EECS.stm

Note that her favored choice of waiting a year and then going to a local CSU the following year would delay completion of the bachelor’s degree by a year, which means delaying entry into higher paying EE or CS jobs by a year. If she cannot see that the OP getting to the point of finding a higher paying EE or CS job as quickly as possible (i.e. go to Berkeley or at least some four year school now to finish your degree as quickly as possible) is the best option to get everyone into a self-supporting family for the longer term, then that brings up a lot of questions about her critical thinking ability.

Of course, if she is as manipulative as the OP implied in the first post, then the relationship is probably doomed anyway, and the OP will need as much income as possible in order to pay child support in the future (if there is a kid involved).

So what happened to the OP? This is starting to seem suspect.

^^^ Damn ■■■■■ got us all worked up for nothing!

Jewbacca knew it was a ■■■■■… My ■■■■■ sense is tingling [-X

There are tons of resources for student parents at Cal including housing, subsidized day care and classes for the student parent community. I would try to inform her of those resources and then see if she will move to Berkeley with you. Going to a good college and getting a solid education is an investment in your childs future.

Yeah even if it was fake it was a good topic though. I haven’t seen people (including myself) get this worked up on the UC forums in a long time.

Agreed @music1990‌ !

I like the new avatar @JewBacca :)>-

Twist: OP is actually the pregnant girl.

@xxcapital‌

Dun dun DUUUUN

I think the title of this thread says it all, warning lots of drama.

Wow, I never expected to get this many replies. I guess I have to address some concerns.

@JewBacca @Cayton @lindyk8 @music1990 I am NOT a ■■■■■. I really am facing this situation. I came hear to listen and get perspectives and advice from different people, not to ■■■■■.

To everyone else, I appreciate all the concern, support, and advice I have received. I actually plan to talk with her tonight. I am going to straighten this whole situation out.

@someperson1‌

Good luck. You should bring a pregnancy test lol.

@someperson1‌

Well at least we got the most important thing out of the way now…that you are not a ■■■■■ :slight_smile:

When I was growing up a ■■■■■ was a type of toy I couldnt afford. I guess Im showing my age… 8-|

@dagoberto I loved trolls when I was a kid lol!
