well, i spent the last 10 minutes reading over some posts and am very, vry nervous at this point. everythging you guys have said so far points out that i have basically no chance of getting in to any legacy schools, so what do you think are some strong alternatives?

i really appreciate it, y'all.

What are your stats Kah?

Don't worry. There are many freakish people on CC, i.e. people who have amazingly excellent resumes and you feel extremely inadequate. I felt that way too when I first came to CC (everyone does, I think). Relax. =p

Agrees with kyledavid

I felt so inadequate when I first joined, but you just have to realize that people on CC tend to raise the bar too high for every school. Just put it out of your mind and realize that your own, non cancer-curing resume is fine just the way it is.

That being said, it's never a bad thing to think outside of the Ivy box, neh?

Ditto with all above. The people you see here are the top crop that the world has to offer, simply because the incentive to post in boards like this indicates very, very high interest in college applications.

Sure, some people have national contest awards and etc, but these count for a very small portion of a top school's acceptance roster, and most people are just hard working, motivated students.

Most people are not legacy at all, and legacy is not a sure fire factor of admittance... If it was, than the US would definitely be a country run by aristocrats.

Don't get scared away, stick around, ask questions, and soon you'll know more than your counselor. (If you go to a public school like me that is... :) )
