I'm kind of screwed

So I signed up for 3 subject tests( Math II, Lit & Spanish w/o listening) for May and am kind of regretting it. I’ve looked at the practice q’s and math is …really hard. Lit is fine and spanish is a struggle but better than math…I’ve just started studying this week and am feeling really overwhelmed. Any advice on how to do prepare for these tests/do ok on them? Also should I consider dropping a subject test on the test date if I know I’m probably not going to do well (knowing I won’t get a refund)?

Maybe try Math I or some other subject test? You can change your mind about which three you take on the day of the test. They give you a booklet with all of the tests and you do the ones you want.

Why do you need them? If you are taking them for college credit, spanish is most useful. But if you have Spanish AP exam already then this may not be needed. Of the colleges my kids applied to, the ones that required subject tests, it was either “any two” or “either Math plus one other”. Lit scores may not be useful. Depends on where you are applying.
The ones that required a Math didn’t care which one.

Our strategy was to take corresponding subject test in June after the AP test for same subject - no real additional study needed since already reviewed for AP.

@scmom12 I’m taking AP spanish next year, so I may not need the spanish subject test. English is a really strong subject for me so that’s why I chose it. Math II according to my math teacher is valued more than I so I’m leaning towards that but idk at this point. For the schools I’m thinking about applying for the sat subject tests are “recommended” but if I did well it would boost my app, especially with my lower GPA. It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision inspired by the fact that maybe I’ll apply to Rice or another school that requires them. At this point I’m probably just going to focus on AP exams, prep a bit for the sat iis, and see what happens.

@mamaedefamilia I’ll consider it, I’ve heard that math ii is more valuable than math i so I’m not sure.

If you’ve done APUSH, it wouldn’t take much to prep for the SAT US History test. There is a lot of overlap.

@mamadefamilia I didn’t take apush, wish I had. I’ll try to think of other subjects though.
