I'm so Nervous SOS

Hey guys!
As you can probably guess from the title, I’m another HS senior who’s freaking out over college admissions.

One of my top choices is NEU, I absolutely love everything about it besides the tuition price haha

Here are my stats:
2090 SAT // 3.6 Weighted (ahhhh) // Just took Sept ACTs.
Job at Medical Office, Job as a math/eng tutor for elementary school kids
National Art H society and Nat Eng H Society
President of FCCLA
4 APs Junior Yr, 3 this year

Anyways, I’m really scared about whether or not I’ll have a good chance, and whether I should EA or Regular. On one hand, many people have told me that EA gives you a better chance but I could really use the extra quarter (RA) to bump up my GPA (I’m confident I can maintain a 4.8 weighted for the semester) and also take the October ACTs for superscore (hopeful for 32-34). tdlr what are my chances, and will RD help me or hurt me?

I don’t think EA would give you a better chance of getting in; you’d just be competing with a pool of applicants that are probably confident enough with their applications to apply early. Most people who had good junior years apply early because they don’t need the extra senior semester to add on to their application. I think you should apply regular just to bump your GPA up just a little bit higher and work on your test scores as well.

You need a higher test score.

You test score is actually decent. 2090 is about the Northeastern average, but not by much. If you were to get a high ACT score that could help you out a lot. Have you gotten your ACT score back yet? Also, Northeastern does defer a lot of students early action if they think they could have a chance at RD, so unless you want to get your GPA up this semester, you could definitely apply EA.

I won’t add to what other said. They are right.

But I will say, don’t stress so much. If you really have your heart set on NU and you don’t get in, you could always transfer. Where there is a will there is a way. So don’t worry so much. In the end, it won’t make any difference how you got in.

Price tag is pretty much in line with other schools of similar caliber fwiw.

GPA seems low, and test scores aren’t high enough to compensate. I think it’s good to apply RD if you think your grades/scores will improve, NU defers a lot of people (or at least have the past few years) anyway so it’d be better to apply when your application is stronger so you don’t have to risk a straight-up denial. Your EC’s aren’t anything to write home about either, assuming those “honor societies” are largely passive like most seem to be?

It’s a reach as is but could possibly be low-reach/high match with better grades and scores. Definitely wait for RD.
