So I’ve made the decision to drop out of my AP Lit class (I’m a senior, and I’m going to be applying to colleges in January). Will this negatively impact college decisions? I’ve taken Honors English for the past 3 years and gotten a B, and I was taking AP in all my other core subjects this year so I decided to move up in English, but AP English at my school is notorious for being extremely difficult, even for those who are very strong in English. I thought I would do well enough but right now I have a D+ and the first quarter is almost over. I had to wait until now to drop the course and go to honors because my school only allows level changes after a full quarter. I’m also in AP Environmental Science, AP Gov, and AP Calc AB, and last year I took AP Bio and APUSH. I’m doing well in all of my other courses, it’s just this class that’s really stressing me out and no matter how much time I put into the work, I still do horribly on everything, and it’s not just me.
It will negatively impact decisions if the college requires four years of english.
@basedchem I would be in Honors English 12
Not as much as having a D+ in AP Lit. If you can’t figure out a way to get to a B-, you’re better off dropping down.
