Impact of grades relating to major.

I am currently a Junior and wish to major in mechanical engineering during college because I am not only passionate about it, but believe I will enjoy it as a career. The only issue however is that during high school I have not been exactly getting the greatest grades in the classes that pertain to mechanical engineering.
My current GPA is 3.77, which I am happy with, but my math and science gpa is about a 3.55. To be precise here are my math and science grades

Freshman year: 1st sem + 2nd sem
Honors Geometry - B...........C
Honors Biology - A............B

Sophomore year: 1st sem + 2nd sem
Honors Pre-Calc - A...........A
Honors Chem - A............A

Junior year: 1st sem
AP Biology - A
AP Calc - B
Honors Physics A

To make myself look better I plan on acing some physics classes at a nearby community college over the summer

Senior Year I will take AP Computer Science, AP Chem, and Engineering Concepts to counter the lack of engineering related classes

Also should I take SAT II's? I ask because rarely do people in the midwest take SAT's, rather the ACT where I am actually strongest in math and science. I expect to get an overall score of 32 on the ACT if that matters.

Thank you very much.

The SAT II exams are looked at but are not usually required, certainly not by IIT. Your grades are certainly OK for engineering. If you take additional physics courses at a CC that will be good too. You might plan on taking Calculus in college even if you get the AP credit. The college courses are not the same as AP and for engineering, Calculus is an important building block.
