importance of midyear reports???

do they have a big impact on your admissions to colleges?

why do you ask?

because i want to know?

oh, yeah..do they really matter?
and if u get in to a college u applied ED and than go get bad grades (worst than u had when u applied) , will they withdraw their acceptance decison?? PLEASE SOMEONE HELP

Can they withdraw acceptance decision after seeing the mid year grades? yes. Can they withdraw acceptance decision after seeing final year grades? Yes. Usually they have to be much worse than your normal grades. D's are not good. If you're applying to a super selective school, 2 C's can kill you.

but if i had grades like this when i applied:
3 Cs
2 Bs
12 As (we have 16-17 subjects in croatia)

and my midterm grades are like
3 Cs
4 Bs
9 As

is that a BIG difference or not?please, help again :)

What my counselor told me was:

Basically, they want to know that you haven't completely bombed your senior year, or just basically screwed the whole year, so I don't think a c will absolutely kill you, though a D is cutting it pretty close.

So if I get all A's and cut a B in Spanish, I'm still safe?

Should be.

Just don't get senioritis and you will be fine.

what exactly are senioritis?

it's a figure of speech that describes a "sickness" one experiences senior year, when you feel like you don't have to try any more and your grades start falling

when do midyear reports get sent out?

yes they may not help you much, but low mid year scores may hurt you.

Do all colleges I apply to get the midyear report? When do I have to send it in?

Would an ivy actually rescind your acceptance after seeing the midyear report, or would they give you a warning at that point, then if your senior grades by the end of the year are bad, rescind you then?

When is a midyear report due? is it usually the day that the rest of the app is due or is it different for every school?

Would the mid-year report actually help you if it is sent early enough? If you are almost deferred/rejected, would having a spectacular mid-year report make them accept you?

In addition to my question ^, do schools with rolling admissions require mid-year reports?

do they give u some warning?like, if your midterm grades arent that good , do they give u chance to improve them till the end of the year or they just send u a letter saying "sorry, we don't like u that much anymore"???

haha this thread is all questions and no answers.
