Importance of SAT scores for transfers

Hello, I am an incoming freshman at the University of Texas at Dallas and am interested in transferring over to a competitive school, such as the University of Chicago, Harvard, Yale, or Stanford. However, my SAT score and my GPA have not been stellar throughout high school.

My unweighted GPA was 3.86 and my rank was 46/648. My SAT score is 2120.

So my question is, how big of an impact does GPA and SAT scores have on admissions?

Do people who matriculate to these prestigious schools usually have extremely high GPAs and SAT scores, or mediocre ones such as mine?

If I do academically well at the university I am going to would that be able to overshadow the deficiencies in my high school application?

Thanks for any responses!

For sophomore level transfer, high school records (HS courses/grades/rank and SAT/ACT scores) are typically important, due to limited college records of the applicant.

For junior level transfer, high school records are less important, due to the greater college records available for the applicant; some schools may not even require them. However, super-selective schools typically still want to see your high school records.
