Improve SAT???

I just got my SAT score back today after taking the November testing and I got 1960 (590 CR 680 W 690 M) which is much lower than I'd hoped for. My goal is 2200 or more. I'm taking it again either may or june so I have 6-7 months to study. What should I do to improve drastically, especially for that horrible critical reading score? Any tips, suggestions?
Also, for anyone who has improved, how much did you improve, and did you do anything to achieve that improvement?
If I studied really really really hard, would it be possible to get a 2400 do you think?
Thanks!

I’m assuming you are a junior; if so, I was in a similar situation to you. The first time I took the SAT I scored a 1940 (600/680/660). The second time: 2090 (650/760/680). And finally this November, 2280 (700/800/780). So in about 10 months, my score rose by 340 points. To your question as to whether you can possibly score a 2400, I think this answers your question: yes. There were really only two things I did to go from scoring 19XX to 22XX: first, practice CR to death. Just read on CC and you will find plenty of tips. Just a side note: I didn’t review a single vocab word and still got a 700…As for math, practice practice practice. I don’t know what else to tell you. Writing, in my opinion, is a formula. Just learn your grammar rules and practice the hardest possible questions (I recommend finding the CC post where everyone posts questions they have struggled with). And the essay, search for the 10 Days to a 12 Essay somewhere on CC. Hope this helps.
