american universities require it if you came from a country where English is not the official language to prove that you know English but I think you can just apply for american universities without the TOEFL if you have done the SAT.

My homeland is Azerbaijan. That’s why I need to pass TOEFL. But I don’t think that this is problem for me.

I nominate this thread for funniest CC thread of 2010.

Wow, threadjack complete. Thank you Sulleyman. How about you wrap a hot towel around your head.

Suleyman, I really don’t think you should go around stating I don’t know what it’s like learning a language in school and taking tests in a foregin language. Due to my dad’s job I have lived around the world. I have lived in 7 states and several countries including Sweden, China, London, and France. I have had to pick up languages and then go to school and be taught in those languages so yes, I do know.

Wow wow.

@OP: It’s definitely possible. I say you use the Xiggi/Silverturtle method (they are all the same really, no offense). Just take as much official practice tests as possible in a testing environment and then review your mistakes THOROUGHLY.

@Suleyman/etc.: Dude. My native language isn’t even English and I got 1860 without even taking a single practice test. Hell. There are people in my country who NEVER BEEN to America scoring near perfect score. You don’t need to know how to speak English to get a good score on the SAT, that’s what TOEFL is for. Plus, don’t hijack threads.

@bitesize No, the one with Henrymoore is more funny.

Guys calm down, suley probably didn’t even mean to intend it to be insulting.

ITT: someone ■■■■■■ hard. CCers s*** brix because there are no ■■■■■■ on this site.

Also, I’m fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and proficient in Chinese. Doesn’t mean I hear them everyday.

lol so ur country is smart and u r not? this makes no sense.

^^It was sarcasm artard.

suleyman>> good luck on the SAT and TOEFL. You still have 2 years thats good However I only have 3months left till my last SAT. I took the official practice test yesturday night and it turned out to be 1460. yea… its hell.

thanks everyone for your reply. when I was taking the practice tests, (math section), I was able to easily go through all the problems. BUT, when I graded it by myself, I had like 15 problems that were wrong (all easy mistakes) Any of you guys experienced this? HOw did you guys go over it? Thanks

soffet,

Please do me a favor; do not post your comments about the SAT unless you’ve mastered the language first. I say this for a very good reason.

benhpark,
if you don’t like to read my posts, don’t do it. And checking my mistakes isn’t polite.
