In a dazed shock

" I’d like to invite you to our Overnight Open House for accepted students on April 18th – 20th. The Diversity Recruitment Program offers to fund admitted students who we believe have the potential to contribute to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity at Amherst. If you choose to attend the Open House, our office will purchase an airline, train, or bus ticket for you and will arrange for your transportation to and from campus. We can fly you in a day early so that you can fully participate in activities beginning on Sunday morning. Once here, your meals, housing, and entertainment will be provided through the Admitted Student Open House Committee."

Should I go? I think I should go. Input, please!

Go! Man, you are so lucky, dude. I’d love to go to one of those!

Why are you wondering? Is there any reason NOT to go? They are offering to fly you from China!?!

Did the envelope have a postcard in it?

Um yes of course you should go!! congrats!!

GO! I’d love to be in your shoes–that’s totally awesome! All expense paid trip? :)

Go, go, go!

Oh my god GO!

GO! Yours is not to wonder why, it is to wonder, why not? or something like that. It is an opportunity of a lifetime. Unless something huge is preventing it, you don’t pass up these things. Go for it.

First, make sure you get a visa to enter the US…

I just received that same e-mail! I live in the US though, so I suppose it’s not just for international students! (Totally going, by the way. No question whatsoever!)

Are you guys using this trip to make your final college decision? Or are you going because you’re fully committed to the school? Just curious…

Why wouldn’t you go?! I’m going  haha

D also got that email, she will go

I’m not an ‘international’ student, per se, I just kinda live outside of the US = D Yeeaarrhhhsss, I e-mailed the dean to ask if they would still fund my trip, even though I live outside of the US. I’m definitely using this to make my college decision. I am currently in Daedalus’ labyrinth, I don’t know whether I should go to Rice or Amherst. I <3 Amherst. I <3 Rice. I feel adulterous and dirty - a high-class trollop = (

i’m going too!

I myself participated in this program, and it solidified my interest in Amherst. Also, participating in this program will dramatically increase your chances of acceptance at Amherst. So I must strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.

Hutchyhutchy, it seems like that the emails were sent to applicants who were accepted already

the emails were definitely sent to accepted students =D

Not sure if I can go =/
