In a predicament, need advice (Also is SFSU really a bad school?)

Hi all.

I am a aspiring transfer student from So. Cal. My GPA is 3.4 and I am going for Economics.

I applied to 5 schools for Fall 2012, 2 of which i was denied (SDSU and Cal Poly), 2 of which are still deciding (CS-Long Beach and CS-Fullerton) and my safety school that i got in (San Fran. State)

I keep reading about SFSU and hearing mostly negative facts. I am also currently located in San Diego and would have to move to the bay area to attend. So I am skeptical on whether I should go or not.

Here is where I need some advice. If I do not get into CS-LB or CS-F, should I simply apply for admission to more schools for Spring 2013 and skip SFSU altogether? Would it be a better option to attend SFSU a semester and then transfer away from SFSU to a better school in Spring 2013?

My GPA after this semester will be above 3.5 considering how things are going in my current classes, if this makes any difference.

This seems like a life changing decision I have to make and would just like to hear what some of you think.

I went to SFSU, I worked full time while attending full time so my opinion is a little jaded. So please only take it with a grain of salt. I found it to be completely a commuter college. They don’t really have dorms for even a fraction of the student body. It’s location is decent. The business school was very average not very impressive but it was one of their biggest programs. I was able to pass with a 3.25 average and work 40 hours a week just to give you a thought on level of academia. If you have any specific questions let me know. However I did attend about 10 years ago. And tuition has since tripled.

Can i ask what you got your degree in specifically? (guessing business related)
