That’s OK with me, xig!

"Yes! Finally I can have my dancing bear animated gif avatar! My post will have much more (57% more) gravitas when I use the dancing bear gif .who can argue with a dancing bear?!! "

You and 4 other Friends like this.

I’ve had no problem linking Facebook Class pages for people in the past.

I really have no idea. As far as improvements, I come from the “less is more” group of dinosaurs. I profoundly despise “new tools” such as avatars, signatures, big fonts, silly gifs, and whatever overzealous developers think were cute. I have seen plenty of sites totally destroyed by the fancies of members who cannot control their urges to embellish their posts with graphics. But then, some seem to like when sites go wild with plenty of colorful hugs and green boxes!

As far as quotes, in a way I was happy that the process of quoting was not simplified to allow one click quotes. Again, I have seen it go bezerk when people had access to this “crap”

Simple and elegant are my preferences. And as far as the look as Facebook or the fresh color scheme of CC could be. ;)

I’m not liking the new look…but I’m never very open to change. Maybe I’ll get used to it, but I can’t seem to “see” the thread titles. Old eyes.

I am no longer VeryHappy. I’m missing a lot of the old functionality. That makes me UnHappy.

I also can’t seem to “see” the threads I have posted on. It must be me. On the “old” forum, there was a red star on any thread I had posted on. I’m not seeing anything that indicates I have posted on a thread. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Also, on the “old” forum, I could click on a blue down arrow to get to the last post I had missed on a thread. Granted- it was the last post since the last time I was on CC, not the last time I had read that particular thread, but I still am not seeing any similar ability on the “new” forum. Anyone else having the same issue?

Does anyone know what the orange flame-like icon means?

Thanks!

Very well said!

Ugh. What the heck is this?! I am often a fan of updates and all but apparently I missed the memo that changes were going to occur. On he iPad , it feels like there is not enough text on a page - looks empty ish.
Two questions:
-is there an indicator of what threads you have participated in? What used to have a red dot ??
- is there a summary of changes somewhere? If so, if someone cold post a direct link on this thread I would be grateful.

Just found a My Threads link in the upper left hand corner. Maybe I like that better than the red stars, although they don’t seem to be in organized in order from most recent.

Not sure I am bright enough to stay here. I think I just sent a PM to someone, but I have no idea what I actually did.

Is there a tutorial somewhere? How doe we fdind the google search option? And what does the orange flame mean (I already asked that)

Ok…so I can reply if I’m on page three of this thread…but there is no reply option on page four. Glo…you are better than me…I can’t FIND the PM function

Oh, one change must be that posts in the Parent Café now count, because I had under 1000 posts previously, and now look! Some posting numbers have skyrocketed.

Did I lose my subscribed threads? Are subscribed threads gone?

Totally confused. Had no idea this is coming. Can’t tell which are the threads I posted on. Can’t tell where I left off reading. Keep getting signed off and have to sign back in again. Just got some weird error message sitting to my left as I type. Terrified this will somehow link to FB despite not meaning it to.

Very unhappy.

Hate the white skin. Makes it very hard to read. Is there any way to change the color preference? Almost all forums give you a choice of skins, so I am hoping I am not stuck with this one.

I’m thinking the flame means a “hot topic”. Don’t know what constitutes a hot topic though !!

What’s the difference between “My bookmarks” (threads I posted in back in 2006 apparently!) and “My threads” (which seem to be lots, but not necessarily all the threads I’ve participated in). I never saved any threads intentionally, preferring just to browse the main page. I know I’ll adjust eventually, but I do hate the process.
