I agree and “liked” your post, too. I also want to see the total number of replies and views within a thread and not the number of KBs used.

I can’t see thread titles. Uh oh. Not fun!

LasMa - I think the control panel can be accessed by clicking the gear icon way up on the right hand corner… I think.

I, myself, was trying to look at colleges in the alphabetical list, and it doesn’t look like the databases have been “loaded” onto all of them there yet.

Or maybe I have the wrong settings. :-/

This might be just the thing to break my addiction to CC… I’m with “Unhappy”. Much too much white space and scrolling, too hard to see where I have posted in the past, can’t see on the colleges page which ones have had updates since I last logged in, and it sounds like from the posts above that the PM capability might be missing (or at least hard to find) in the new world. And all of my old PMs in my mailbox – can’t find them (can’t find the mailbox!). I have stuff in there I wanted to keep. And agree about the post #s – very useful when referring back to someone else’s post.

Feeling a lot more like a downgrade than an upgrade… (WIndows 8, anyone?). Maybe next time they ought to beta this with a few very experienced users… even if we didn’t have the whole community to talk to, we would be willing to give feedback on look/feel/how we use the site.

No more autonotification in email? I clicked on that setting but it doesnt seem to be working

Inparent, I think you have to go into your inbox and then click on new message to send a PM. It works like an email “to” where you type in the first few letters of a username and the name pops up. Haven’t tried it, but I think that is how one sends a PM.

Thanks, momofthreeboys. Where, and how do I see that?

Ah… I just found the little inbox icon next to my name in the upper right corner. Can’t see “sent” messages easily, it does that same (goofy, IMHO) thing they do in Gmail now where it strings your “conversation” together.

Oh, I had to track it down on my home screen to see which post it was. And thank you to the other 2 people who “liked” it. And it gives points?? What do they mean?

I’m with others- this might finally have been the kick I needed. I unblocked the site for today just so I could play around but when I re-block it from my computer I do not think I’ll access the mobile site at all. It’s far, far too cumbersome and the white, again, is just painful.

I appreciate the attempt at the update, I guess, but I just don’t understand A- why it was necessary and B- what kind of “feedback” the admins could’ve gotten that would’ve resulted in this.

“No more autonotification in email?”

I don’t think so. You have to click on the notification icon, next to your name at top right of page, and it will tell you if you have a pm.

Looks pretty. Looks clean. On the looks, it gets a C. As an upgrade, it gets an F. On the scorecard, there is an A. And that is for helping members to break their addiction.

I like the ability to hide online status, as well as the auto-save draft. As everyone else has said, the site is incredibly poorly designed, and just reading these threads strains my eyes. Some color differentiation between posts would be useful as would many of the previous suggestions. Then again, I’m already addicted to CC, and no longer applying to colleges, so I’m probably not who the change was targeted towards.

Also, where did the location thing go? I found it useful if I was responding to a post about my schools or states since I didn’t have to write that live(d) there; it was on my profile for the relevant user to see.

I think we’re using a beta set-up, since some of the sub-boards don’t really work yet, or have nothing in them.

^^Yes if you click on the gear/cog to the right of your user name at the top you can set your preferences for notifications and can chose e-mail or popups or both for a number of different activities. Jym I have no idea how the “like” button works - perhaps only “you” can see the likes…haven’t figured out that one yet.

The status - whether you are on-line currently or not is also under preferences - look to the left navigation, there is a list of preferences you can change.

Good heavens, is this…4 pt type? So much squinting! So little contrast!!

LOL, Hard for us “old folk” to see skinny small black type on all this white…maybe they could break the CSS and make the parents forum and cafe a larger point size…wouldn’t that be funny. You can "see’ from my avatar that I can’t “see” anymore.

momofthreeboys, I set my preference to email notification for pm but it’s not working. I got the pop up on screen and if I click on notification ico it told me I had a message.

Maybe email notifications are not yet enabled, but it looks like the potential is there to continue to get e-mail notifications.

I hate it. On the old site I could see what was new since I last accessed the site. Now I can’t tell anything except if I’ve posted to a thread. I also can’t tell WHEN I last accessed the site so I can’t compare time stamps (which are now missing from any post not from today). The background is too bright with no contrast.
