In case you missed the announcement ...

Based on the history of CC, that is pure wishful thinking. While all subforums might not work, this is not a beta site. It is --unfortunately-- the real thing. Gotta to feel sorry for the great people who have brought this wonderful community to life. Gotta feel sorry because it is so darn painful to be honest in our appraisal. One choice would be to be hypocritical and convey a bit of faint praise for effort, and pretend the bad news will pass as we will get used to it.

The sad reality is that what is bad is not the implementation or the tweaks, but that the basic platform and design is horrendous. Horrendous because it is a departure from an organization that worked most of the time. Departure from something we got used to in close to a decade. THIS is a new platform and a brand new software that could have called itself harakiri.

Again, I feel sorry but I cannot help to be brutally honest.

Yes, it’s been a pleasure knowing everyone over the last near decade. I think many days are numbered though.

When I click on “Latest Posts”, there are tons of pinned posts before the actual latest posts. I have to scroll down a couple of times to get to the actual “latest posts”. I suspect this is a bug that will be fixed… email notification of my PMs is also not working. I checked my profile flags, and they are set to email, but it isn’t working (yet). Again, I expect they will sort that. So… I decided to log out… and couldn’t figure out how. But I see now… hover over the while on the upper right of your screen and it is an option.

Probably true. And what are the “visits” on our pages? I have a bunch of “points” and a few “visits”. The points seem to be tied to the “likes” and we can see who “liked” us (yup, got it, momofthreeboys) but can we tell who “visited” us? Feels a little … uncomfortable.

Using phone, how do I skip directly to the end of a thread? Every thread is now “new”, but some have thousands of old posts.

Is the iPad application EVER going to work again?

I think the clean up isn’t done because I just did a “Search” of a college and got the old webpage interface back. :x

Wow – what a change!

I do agree that this change will definitely help me kick the CC habit. Also did not like to have to change my password. I have enough problems keeping all my passwords straight between work and all the other accounts I have :(

Don’t like the lack of distinct borders. It’s like everything is just floating everywhere. If I were to ever “quit” CC it would be right now.

This update is challenging…I don’t even know how to get to the end of a new thread…

CC has definitely scored an “A” at kicking member’s habits.

There’s far too much white space. A one line post doesn’t need to take 3 inches of screen space. The post numbers were a great reference and should be brought back. I log on to CC for information, not to see animated avatars. However, given a choice, I prefer the white space.

Is there a trick to logging onto my cell phone? Why do I have a “network error”? Do I have to delete CC from my iPhone and reinstall the app just to change the password to the one I was prompted to create when I logged onto my PC this morning?

The design is “too sleek/too clean”. I need definitive borders, not this flat-plane windows 8 esque nonsense.
I do like being able to mark posts as helpful now. But I think the facebook integration is pointless (from a kid’s pov).

Who REALLY wants CC to be linked to their Facebok. :>

Exactly. This is supposed to be “Confidential” :stuck_out_tongue:
I don’t want anyone knowing I use this site. :D

EDIT: And these smilies are a bit ridiculous…but they were bad before also.

I like the old smilies.
These ones are really, really creepy.

Emoticons drive me nuts. Any chance the CC IT folks could make it possible to turn them OFF?

I agree about the borders. This seems like a huge white space with stuff stuck on it. No real definition. I do NOT like the access to PMs…very hard to find, and then use. Also miss the drop down when you clicked on a username. It was nice to go directly to other posts, or PM, without Havi to navigate an additional screen…or two. Usually when “improvements” are made to a site, it reduces the need to do multiple layers of things to get around. This “improvement” seems to create MORE layers to navigating this site.

It hurts my eyes. I have to come back in a few days when the background is softened. Very tiny fonts, also.
Crossing my fingers that this is just a work in progress.

I hope we dont get deluged with instant-notifications when that starts to work!

I can’t get into CC discussion by using Chrome, no problem with Safari. I get this error:
Error 400 Bad Request
