In NYU, apply to first school but rejected and considered for second

@intlnyu I’m gonna email and talk to some nyu faculty for more info but thank you for the new tandon acceptance rate, i wudve never known if it wasn’t for u!

Go with your interests. Don’t go by school. Tandon is 32nd in the world for EECompE which is my department. That was one of the reasons I chose to go here

@intlnyu one more question, do u know how many applied to Tandon last year?

You don’t apply to Tandon. You apply to NYU

Cross-posting my reply to another post from @intlnyu here:

You say that Poly/Tandon/whatever’s most recent acceptance rate was 31%? CAS’s acceptance rate was under 25% in 2010, when I was accepted, and it has only decreased since then. It is simply a fact that CAS has a lower acceptance rate than the school of engineering. It is also a fact that CAS is harder to get into than both Gallatin and Steinhardt. None of these facts take away from the fact that the school of engineering, under any name, is still an excellent school.

@jazzcatastrophe I asked nyu faculty and emailed them and they said nyu acceptance rate was abt 33%

@hammad22 that is the overall acceptance rate that includes all of NYU’s schools. Some are more selective than others, which is why that’s where the average falls.

We belong to the same family then @jazzcatastrophe .
