So my friend wrote something really inappropriate on my paper without me knowing and the teacher found out. I was sent to the administrator and received a punishment even though it wasn’t my fault. I got 1 day of in school suspension. Im so scared right now, I already got accepted to Mercer through Early Action and Im about to find whether i made UNC and Emory next Tuesday. Will I get my Mercer acceptance revoked because of one day of ISS?
How did your friend get your paper without your knowledge?
If it’s an in-school suspension, it’s probably what used to be called ‘detention’ which doesn’t get reported anywhere. Just go see your guidance counselor and find out if this is something that the school plans to report to the schools you’ve applied to. I’m 90% sure the answer is ‘no’ or "no, if it doesn’t happen again.’
Then it’s time to have a conversation with this ‘friend’ about why he didn’t come forward and accept responsibility rather than let you take the hit. As the old saying goes, ‘with friends like that, who needs enemies?’
@bjkmom, nowadays it isn’t all that difficult. If it were on a Google doc and the friend had editing rights, they easily could have written something.
So you’re assuming that the OP gave editing rights of his work to someone else-- someone with either the poor judgement or the ill intent to write something inappropriate enough to warrant a day of ISS??
Wait so I’m fine? I just serve my time in ISS and no harm done to my transcript?
