If my parents are living in state when I register for my first year but then move out of state, can I still pay the in-state tuition for college?

My family and I have lived in NJ for almost 10 years, and I'm planning to attend Rutgers, but my family is moving to a different state this year. Will I still be eligible for in-state tuition?

Probably but check the college’s website - they’ll likely have the details. If they don’t then contact the office of the registrar and ask them.

Thank you for your help!! :)

More important…check what will happen after one year. You will likely be eligible for instate tuition for the upcoming school year (check with Rutgers to find out)…but what will happen for the subsequent three years? Some schools will not allow you to continue at the instate rate if your parents have not had a domicile in the state for a year (so a year from now, that would be the case). Some state schools will carry you at the instate rate for all four years if that is your status as an incoming freshman. You NEED to check.
