in your experience, how long til they make the decision?

I never physically visited Tulane. Would it be worth a trip to fly down there?
I live in RI so it would be quite expensive, but I figure that way I could consolidate that its my first choice? I was thinking would that show more interest or something too?
Should I email my admissions counselor with the advice you gave above or call or write a letter?
Sorry I sound desperate, but its tough when two other people from my school got accepted but just applied because the app was free and easy and probs have zero intentions of going.
I actually want to go there!

boredfun, i feel ya there on that one. two words: long island. thats where I live, enough said =P

boredfun - I am in RI also, as you might have noticed. What school are you at? Anyway, if you plan ahead Southwest is not terribly expensive. I just checked if you flew into New Orleans Feb 21 (I just picked a date that is enough before the RD notification date) there is a fare of $149 to get there with one plane change, and coming back on the 23rd there are still fares as low as $72 with one change. That would give you the 22nd to tour the campus, talk to your admissions counselor, and sit in on a class or two. If you did something like that, you could convey your desire to attend Tulane in your e-mail with your counselor where you are asking for an appointment. Just be sure you have a thoughtful answer for why you want Tulane.

Still haven’t gotten a decision…
as I said before, I applied mid october so it’s frustrating! I even called and they said not to worry and that they just had a lot of applicants. Regardless, I’m getting antsy.

i got in =D
