In your opinion

Hey guys I am new to these forums and from reading posts about Cal Poly I am getting a bit discouraged. I am a Junior in California. I am also Hispanic. My current average unweighted GPA is a 3.2 with an upward trend. I have taken the PSAT with a 50 (R) 58 (M) and a 49 (W). I have not taken the SAT yet. I have 1 year of JV soccer experience and will most likely join the varsity squad next year. I am secretary of two different clubs. I will also be a student body officer next year. Next year I will have a tough schedule with English 12, Statistics AP, Calculus AP, Computer Science AP, Spanish 3 or 4 AP (Depending on my placement test), and Government AP. I am also going to enroll in a Economics class at a local Cal State University. My school is the best in the district (20+ schools) and sends 10-15 students to Cal Poly every year. I also plan on either majoring in Business or Computer Science.

In your opinion, what do you think I should do to have a competitive profille to be admitted to Cal Poly?
SAT score?

Thanks in advance.

Well. From what I hear, you can get into SLO with a lower GPA, so you have a shot with all of those extracurriculars. AP anything is worth jack if you don't take the tests. The Polys are renowned for their Engineering and Architecture program (hence the name "Polytechnic"). Not saying that their other programs are lesser programs, because they are pretty strong all around. Ask around about the SATs, I haven't taken mine in 4 years. Concentrate on bringing up those grades. And it's nice that you are branching out for college courses, but introductory economics isn't that flashy (just macro and microeconomics, not rocket science).

Just keep working at those grades, because I believe that I read somewhere that the average GPA for enrolling freshmen was 4.02.

im so glad were transfer students infinity, seems like its easier to get in as transfers than it is as a freshman. Have you heard anything? My names john by the way, figured id start the introducing in case we both get accepted haha.
