Incoming Frosh Classes advice - premed track.

I know they've been other threads on this, but I'd appreciate advice.

I haven't taken AP Chem, and although I have Ap Biology credit I don't really remember much from it. I haven't taken Calc either haha.

I want to double major in Biology and Psych though, and minor/explore in something else.

But I don't want to go over 16 credits.
So:
Phys Ed(0 credits)
Chem 105
Math 125 ( the lower calc? )
Psychology 101
SAGES

Now should I take the chem lab this semester or next semester?
And if you say that I shouldn't take it this semester

what class would be a decent one that isn't too big on the workload
between:
Sociology 101
Microeconomics 101?
Dance (I've never danced before, but I've wanted to try it)
Intro to International Relations(I like MUN and such, but if it's big on the workload idk)

Take MATH 121 - 125/126 are complete jokes.

Also, get CHEM 113 out of the way. You may want to take CHEM 114 in the spring if you’re considering minoring or majoring in chemistry.

As far as the other classes go, it’s completely up to you. Pick whatever you’re most interested in and whatever fits in your schedule! :)

are they really that easy?
and I haven’t gone past precalc so 125 may be better haha

Psych 101 should be an easy class (I took it with Exline). The class is entirely test based so as long as you review the textbook well, getting an A should be a piece of cake.

Are you accepting credit for your AP Bio?

Is it recommended to take the credit? On the Ap site for Case, it says it’s not unless you Took Ap Chem with it.
And I signed up for Exline! After seeing rate my prof haha.

And would you guys still say take Chem 113 if your only high school chemistry happened 2.5 years ago? haha

I also signed up for the lab with Kenney …even though it’s Friday 3-6 because I heard he was the better /easier lab teacher?

Don’t quote me on this, but I believe freshman (at least 1st semester) are allowed to withdraw from classes any time before finals without it showing up on their transcript. Verify that, but if it’s true it takes a lot of pressure off choosing classes.

Try taking the chem lab for a couple of weeks or so. If you can’t handle the workload early in the semester, it’ll be tough to handle when the workload increases. But maybe you’ll find you can do just fine.

Also, don’t pay too much attention to credit hours. I think my hardest semester I had about 13 or 14 hours. A combination of a 3 credit class + a 1 credit class is often much harder than one 4 credit class.

Math 121/122 is more of a calculation-based math better suited for the engineering track. Math 125/126 is an applied calculus-based class better for the social sciences and business tracks –> many pre-med students I know take the 125/126 class. If you choose to go with Math 125/126 I suggest that you take it during the “off” season.

@Franciscog24, what do you mean by the “off” season. And also I heard the 121 teacher is way nicer and more helpful what would you say? Thats the main issue I have in making my schedule right now should I take 121 or 125…?
