I'll be honest, I'm clueless when it comes to these dorms. I really don't know much about the differences, as the FSU site isn't really going to tell you the truths about each. I'm also probably not gonna room with someone I know. My list as of now is...

I was just accepted as well and the best advice I can give you is to visit the dorms for yourself if you are able. That’s what I plan on doing cause when I look on the fsu site all the dorms look kinda the same, like there’s no actual pictures of each dorm hall itself other than models

My son was just accepted also and we are confused about the dorms. He has heard that Wildwood is nice and new, but is very far from anywhere to eat.
He is hoping to go visit and maybe overnight after the holidays.

^ I live in Wildwood. It’s no more than 10 mins away from Fresh Foods, but yes, Suwannee is all the way on the other side of campus (which still is barely 10 minutes away if you take short cuts). Oh and it’s the closest dorm to the 24/7 Denny’s, I think. Also, the Union is very close (which is nice if you have classes in HCB [most of mine were]), and that also means it’s close to the dining areas there such as Chilli’s, Moe’s (?), Papa Johns, etc.

^Okay thats sounds great to me, I’ll be visiting during Spring Break. I’ll make it a point to visit Wildwood. And I put it as #2 on my housing contract. Thanks Dnerd!

I live in Reynolds–definitely nice to be able to just walk out a door and be at Suwannee, one of the dining halls. Jennie-Murphee and Bryan are right next to Reynolds, so those are close, too. The great thing about these dorms is the proximity to one of the two all-you-can-eat dining halls, and the proximity to Landis Green and the library, a definite plus, if you don’t want to hike around campus after studying late at night in the library!

Nope, I eat a variety of meals (well… pizza accounts for 50% of my ‘diet’), so limiting most of my food choices to the on-campus diners and their hours wasn’t going to work for me. I still eat on campus from time to time since the cheapest meal plan I found still calculated out to be somewhere around $10 a meal, so the extra $1 I have to pay when I eat there every once in awhile isn’t really hurting me as much as buying a meal plan and eating elsewhere regularly would. My roommate and a lot of other people I know end up having extra meals left that they aren’t able to use (due to time restrictions or wanting to eat elsewhere) at the end of each week, too… so that’s money down the drain imo.

wildwood is far from all three dining halls. a friend of mine is living there now, and we both happened to live in degraff in summer. degraff is the same layout but a better location. if you want something close to a dining hall thats still nice, go with broward. its literally right next to swan

Palmbeach, what “three” dining halls are you talking about? And Wildwood is definitely closer to the eateries in the union than dorms on the eastside (i.e., Reynolds).

the third dining hall that palmbeach is probably referring to besides suwannee and fresh foods is the figg athletics dining hall in the stadium.

sorry i forgot fsu doesn’t tell anyone about that haha. to be honest, nothing is really very far. i still think wildwood has a relatively bad location. the east side suite style dorms are nice and all are really close to swan. the west side dorms next to fresh are relatively crappy.

Suwannee and Fresh Foods are the all-you-can-eat dining halls. Also, you can eat at the stadium where the athletes eat, but for lunch times only Mon-Fri.

I live in Broward and love it. Suwanee is right next to it, and it is extremely convenient. It is also connected to Gilchrist and Landis. I definitely recommend any of the BLG dorms
