Princeton (with FA but need-blind again, probably, EDing to their finan. engineering dept)

Stanford (no FA)

UC-Berkeley (no FA)

University of Illinois (FA)

University of Michigan (FA)

University of Texas at Austin (FA but their procedure for assiatnce is rather disjoint within each dept, pretty confusing :( )

how are those average stats ur a beast kid

Those are pretty average stats. It’s gonna be a big reach for all those schools esp. most international students apply to those school have International Olympiad credential and whatnot. Sorry to destroy your hopes. It doesn’t hurt to apply though

Um, there are a lot of Indians in Singapore.

Also, your stats are to average as Megan Fox is to ugly.

Wow… I have one thing to say: Why isn’t Harvard on your list? I mean, my god, you’re designing payloads for satellites, researching cancer, and presenting before Prime Ministers. They’d kill for somebody like you.

Also, don’t listen to the other asian<insert#> user; he’s obviously jealous. And you’re obviously brilliant. Be sure to write from the G8 or the UN or wherever you end up!</insert#>

I think you have a much better shot at the tech colleges than the ivies. Your scores other than math are weak and there’s no well roundedness with everything being math/science.

Average stats? are you kidding me?

if you count those average stats…many people would be considered illiterate…those are great

hi asian75 and all,

I am really sorry but what I meant by ‘average stats’ was my SAT score and GPA (considering some ppl in my school who have stellar stats in academics)

I know my activities arent as stellar as what asian75 thinks. This is the only reason why I posted in a chance thread. If i knew i could get into such colleges, I wouldnt be wasting about 20mins of my time writing all this.

As please, I consider myself far from egocentric lol.

Thanks for the comments by everyone though. I have met ppl like asian75 a lot in my life and they really drive me to do better. So thanks man :D

seriously, dont dishearten or belittle other people by calling those stats average. you know those are great

haha xargon42, you should come to my school.

I would say my stats/activities are pretty average (probably above average) to many students applying to similar unis. It is tough down here in Singapore lol.

Regards

just for an example, one of my senior got into Harvard University with a Full scholarship to do her undergrad as an International Student.

^
That would help you a lot if you were actually her. Other than that it is not going to help you.

indianmonster, I take it you’re from NUS High? Greetings from ACS(I)! You’ve got a really strong list of science ECs (kinda to be expected from NUS High though), and would have a good shot at the tech schools (try improving the SAT for Caltech). How come you’re asking some schools for FA and not for others?

lol yea. true.

Hey Kthanksbye! Good to see another Singaporean in this thread haha.

Yes, I am from NUS High School. And yea, it was tough as hell here but now, approaching the final sem, things have slackened a lot.

The thing is, I am not applying for any singapore scholarship (due to their insane bond periods), so Fin. aid was a must.

As for why the irregularity, I am pretty sure a few colleges like Stanford would outright reject me if I listed for Fin Aid. I was originally thinking of paying full time (I am pretty well off) but with my stats, I felt that probably applying Fin AId would be wise.

Moreover, for colleges like Harvey Mudd, the admin rates r pretty high (even for internationals) so I thought my advantageous stats could optimize my Fin AId disadvantage. But yea, this doesnt work for colleges with admin rates of like <10% for RD students and that probably have much less than 5% admin rates for international without Fin Aid.

Regards

If this is average, then my entire high school life has been a complete waste. Seriously, how could this possibly be considered average, even in a highly competitive area? I’m don’t understand why you’re so worried.

happycowlover.

Let Stats= SAT score + GPA

sry my bad but that’s what I meant ok?

I know my activities are good but it isnt a subset of my stats.

Regards

Well, the list is impressive, but you must consider the international applicant pool is exceptionally strong. For instance: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/485345-chances-top-schools-thanks-you.html</a> (RSI Distinction and ISEF Gold and EPGY) or at the risk of being seen as tooting my own horn: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/409766-international-chances-penn-ed-stanford-columbia-cornell-nyu.html</a></p>

I’d say good chance at all the schools - but not an outright admit at any one of them.

im gonna say ■■■■■. big ■■■■■
