sorry bout that astrix, merqurysquad, how did ur interview with Mr. Coelho go? I gave mine last month, but my report hasn't reached, so I'm worried

RKP - churns out that ivy material every year. u got a chance man. but anything stellar? like anything that the adcom can say "dang. this guy's done some DAMN cool stuff" ? that puts u at the top of the pile. otherwise ur screwed and u have a 30 percent chance - im guessing. so anyway sid. gdluck on ur app. im a 1350 applying to pton, cornell, duke, dartmouth, so take pleasure in seeing other ppl with lower scores! ;)

ur IN at the 2nd tier colleges no doubt with those fckn fantasic SAT IIs...those 800s are the jewels in the crown...

sid - u sud be confirmed for all except jhu, H and P. I would say that like all of us here for H and P its 50/50 and for jhu - i would say better than 50/50
the reason for 50/50 is because the way they make the decisions. check this link out
the decisions also take into factor your fin. aid. needs (except at H and P) so keep tht in mind while considering your chances

How could you determine his chances knowing only his scores and marks?! Unless you're making assumptions.

so wat if he's married.. u really think dat makes any diff? hehe..

hello.. i was talkin abt my harv interviewer...

ofcourse it is an assumption. from calculus class, i have learned that admission has two probable outcome (in RD) and is random enough to be awarded a 50/50 prob. ;)

did any1 in india have an interview for columbia or UPenn??

Or for that matter, who in India had an interview for where? AFAIK, merc for MIT, akash for Harvard and MIT, such for Princeton

I had for MIT, princeton (phone interview), Chicago (phone)

Princeton and Chicago - phone interviews with an alum in your city? Were you contacted or did you contact.

No Princeton was with the person who is incharge of interviews for the state of Virginia in the US (he is a friend of my bro's friend) and
Chicago was with my admission counselor (I had requested this interview to 'learn' more about Chicago)

oh..to answer your second question - i contacted them - the same for MIT, I contacted my EC first

There are interviewers for Yale (Anu Shastri) and Upenn in New Delhi

people from my school had Penn interviews two years back

akash what are you planning to major in
