Hey guys, how many of you received a yale NUS interview? and how many of you didnt? Please post your stats as well.
@swim1128 Thanks!
Has anyone in India got a Harvard interview?
Yes a few people did @HeyYaThere and apparently, the admissions officers have already informed the selected candidates that they were wrapping up the interviews this year (about 2 weeks ago). I don’t know. Perhaps your daughter could still get one via Skype or something, given you’re US citizens.
Call them up. Good luck.
@rahuilmars231 Thanks for your response.
@ub1997 your standardised test scores are great. I don’t think that a 710 would hurt you a lot. What are your school scores? Your ECs are fine. If your school scores are great, I think that you have a good chance at berkeley and LA(idk about other schools expect CMU, Dartmouth, and UPenn) UPenn, Dartmouth, and CMU would be reaches.
Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/india/1865348-chance-me.html?new=1
Hi,
this is probably the first time I’m commenting on this thread. Does anybody have any clue about how low one can score in boards so that offers dont get rescinded (especially at ivies). My school gave me like really low predicted grades (>70 nonetheless) , and I’m expecting my scores to drop lower in a subject or two. I should most likely meet the overall condition though.
(fwiw, in my state board, even a 60+ score will fetch you a B)
As long as you don’t fail you’re fine
Actually if you got 90+ in your previous classes and get lower than 70 in the boards it might be a thing of concern for most universities @anotherdude
@pallavijaniani I have legit reasons for not doing well. Not just senioritis (although that played a small role too). I’ll definitely score above 75 overall, but I’m not too sure of scoring that much in a subject or two
@anotherdude At this point you can only try and work hard. When the result comes and if anything goes wrong email the university you’ll be attending about the reasons. Hopefully, you’ll be fine
How many people in this thread applied to Upenn and how many of you received an interview? Only the people who live in India answer this question.
I received one!
whatever it is…Indian students…Best of Luck for Board exams
@MrAccountant My boards are over already
My boards are over
@tiwari124 how was it? When was it? Where did it take place? What did the interviewer ask? And where are you from? I received one on 21st February- which apparently was the last date for interview report submissions. My interviewer was this businessman from Bangalore who established an institute called Kings Learning. And he was basically a robot. No feelings, no conversation, incoherent expression. He was just intent on getting some material to write on the report- obvious cuz he was typing everything I said. I could tell that he was bored just by how he interrupted my responses despite how succinct or different they were. and for my questions, it was like eliciting a pre recorded response from a poorly designed automaton. I asked some deep questions- and his answer for every single question was- Upenn has a flexible curriculum, Upenn has people from all over the world, Upenn will help you make a lot of friends. This was literally his response for 10 questions.
It was just not a very pleasant experience.
@rahuilmars231 Dont worry much about the interview. My interviewer told me that it holds very little sway in the admissions process.
@HeyYaThere I got one just an hour ago from our regional admissions counselor.
Congratulations @Ambitious27. Hope all goes well for you. Good luck.
