@warrior1208 I got in for CS too. John Muir.
@gwastaken Congratulations! Is it your first choice? Muir is famously said as the best of all the six colleges. And Revelle is said to be the hardest due to its humanities GEs. :-S
@warrior1208
Sixth for Math!
@potatoheadhala Nice! First choice?
CS was first choice major, Sixth was first choice college. But I’m happy with Math!
@warrior1208 CS was my first choice and as was Muir.
Will my admission be rescinded if I get around 65 in maths? All other papers went pretty well, but the half yearly marks were 90 so I am pretty scared . This for UCs mainly and UTD scholarship . What is the status for ivy leagues if I get in ? Please help!
@tiwari124 I don’t think so. Because your overall percentage will be a lot higher if you did well in the other examinations.
@pallavijaniani Since I study in kota I couldn’t manage much percentage but around 80 I am expecting . What is the worst case scenario. I mean do they really do rescind admissions if you get 75+ ? Because according to Indian Board Marksheet 60+ is B2.

The only reason they would rescind is if you fail terribly. Not to worry too much, they accepted you for a reason, they won’t exactly rescind your app because of that.
@skyblade1234 Okay thank you! Btw does failing terribly mean failing in boards exams or a huge drop in grades like 90% to 60% ? Or is it just totally failing
I think totally failing. But I do the British Alevel system, say if I get all Ds and I’m accepted at Purdue, they probably won’t rescind my admissions, because 1. Alrvels count mainly towards transferring credits only. The same goes for the 12th exam I believe. So don’t fret too much
@skyblade1234 If you think that you’re getting Ds in all subjects then there is a real possiblity of your admissions offer getting rescinded :o
According to what I’ve seen online, that’s the case, but this is for the British system, I can say the same for the Indian one
@anotherdude @skyblade1234 What does a D constitute in Indian Education system. On the board marksheet this is the marking scheme followed-
90-100 A1
80-90. A2
70-80. B1
60-70. B2
50-60. C1
And so on so a D would 've 30-40 I think that is passing marks!
So how do they calculate D?
I have also heard they don’t rescind admissions until you fail.
Btw on a totally unrelated topic the Board Maths paper was so hard what is the general consensus what will happen next like, Grace marks lenient checking ? I just wanna get an opinion from people of all CBSE administrative regions ?
@tiwari124 Usually easy checking follows a hard paper…same happened last year.
Noo, my D was in terms of the British system, a D on my paper would be 50-55, I believe you need at least 50% to be at least safe. I cannot say that for ivies but mostly, for other colleges that is the case. Maybe you should start a thread or ask an expert
@tiwari124 Calm down. As long as you get above 60, you’ll be fine. My cousin got a 62 in his maths board paper last year (he had 86 in half yearlies), and UC Davis didn’t rescind his admission.
@pallavijaniani I hope so otherwise I may score low!
@skyblade1234 I did start a thread but it got no attention. I will get above 60 definitely but still I was prepping for worst possible circumstances.
@elysium305 I have DM’ed you. Thank you all for your help!
