Indiana MBA Programs

Current indicies on 4.0 scale; B.S. IT, Purdue U:

GRAD 3.04
MAJOR 3.22

77/121 credits; expected graduation: May '08.

I have three semesters remaining before I graduate. I plan on bumping my GPA from its current 3.04 standing to somewhere in the range of 3.15-3.3 before I’m done. Also, I will be working an inside sales internship this summer with management promotion opportunities should I decide to stay with the company after I graduate. These opportunities become very attractive for those with MBAs, which is my primary focus of interest; I do not plan on applying for grad school until I have a few years of experience under my belt.

Two questions:

Do committees appraising potential MBA students typically look at Major GPA or Cumulative GPA when making their decision?

Will a 3.15-3.3 GPA qualify me enough to consider Purdue Krannert or IU Kelley for my MBA studies?

Look forward to your responses; thanks.

Hey I go to Purdue to. GPA is only one of the factors that go into Bschool admissions and probably the 3rd most important. If you can get the 3.3 with a good GMAT, and very nice job experience you will be in good shape.

Having an engineering major, I bet if you graduate with a 3.0 or above and score a 670+GMAT, you're good to go. That is if you hve 2 plus years of solid work experience. At Florida, they LOVE engineering majors. Also, at Florida, they look at the GPA for all credits after 60 (ie upper division) in the admissions descision. The schools you are looking at, I think would have a very similar MBA programs to Florida's.
