I am not able to decide whether I should go to UIUC or Indiana. I am planning to take up a major in the business field. In terms of the business schools, Kelley is way better (in my opinion). However, my family and counselors are saying that if you decide to change your major to anything outside business, then UIUC would be better because Indiana is not as reputed as UIUC (as far as I have researched). I personally don’t see myself doing anything other than business. What do you guys think?
Indiana or UIUC?
It depends on your goals…
For example, if you want to do accounting, I would pick UIUC. For finance, IU.
If you are in-state for either, weigh the cost difference too.
It sounds like you already know where you want to go – Indiana Kelley – and some people are trying to talk you out of it. Go with the one that you get excited about, can see yourself attending, and just feel all around good about. If you feel like you can’t imagine studying anything other than business, then it is likely that if you do change majors, it will still be within the school of business and not something radically different.
What is the cost difference?
iubaccounting IU is more expensive by 2000$ (approx.)
But IU has given me a scholarship of 5000$ per year so IU becomes cheaper by 3K (which i don’t believe is that much of a difference)

i am an international student so my expenses will be slightly higher.
also, right now i have no idea as to what my major will be.

i was almost sure that i would pick IU but now i am unsure.
still, i will research and hopefully pick the best one.
I would probably go to IU if you are sure you want to do business. However, Illinois is better for certain things like engineering
Choose the school with the better athletics (ducks :))
