Industrial Technology & Packaging v. Business Administration

Which major is more competitive and/or difficult to get into? Average MCA scores based off of your best judgement?

I can’t quote previous MCAs (you should look them up in the Final Status threads to see if you can find any), but IT and packaging should be a FAR easier admit. Nearly everyone who applies gets in. It’s a small program with 35 or so students per class. They expect 105 applicants next year. With a yield of 33%, CPs average across all majors, they’d have to accept 105 students to fill the 35 slots. BA on the other hand expects over 6000 applicants to fill 500 or so spots. Doing the yield math again, only 1500 of the 6000 will be accepted to admit 500.

Now onto the bigger question…why is this? I have NO idea. IT and Packaging is a great major that has a very high placement rate and starting wages that rival the engineering grads, especially in packaging. Personally, I think it’s one of the most underrated Poly majors.

Good luck!
