Ineligible at UCI and UCR bc of my Chemistry grades?

I am a bio major...

I got a C+ in Gen Chem I, C in lab and an A in Gen Chem II, C in lab again :(. UCI states you need a B in Gen Chem (not sure what they state about lab) in order to transfer. Does this mean they'll reject my automatically because of those grades?

Same thing with UCR. They say you need a 2.7 (B-) in both semesters of O-Chem to transfer. Looks like I'm going to end up with a C in both semesters...Is this school seriously going to reject me because of one class???

Not to late to change it around. I would try to improve your grades as much as possible. Show a position trend.

Are you referring to O-Chem or my overall GPA? I took my O-Chem II Final today, my grades are pretty much set in stone for O-Chem.

I’m not worried about my other grades really, but these 2 semesters of O-Chem destroyed my GPA because it was a 5 unit class.

But do you know about my question? Is it simple “DENY” once they see my Chemistry grades don’t meet their requirements?

B or BUST!!

I know you’re not applying to Cal under the Econ major, but this is just a general example:
For Cal Econ, the lowest grade you can get in a prereq class is a B-. Even if you get into the school, have completed all the prereqs but got one C+ in one of them… you will not be accepted! That’s why I say B or Bust because at least that way you can make it up… even though if you apply to grad school they will average out the new grade + ‘bust’ grade.

I can’t say for sure but I think they will consider your other grades too before getting the automatic boot.

Are you sure want to be a bio major anyway? Another good question to ask yourself.

Well yeah, I’m pretty good at Bio and I like most science classes. I’m not going to consider changing majors just because of one class that a lot of people struggle with.
