I’m applying to the UCs as a transfer student and when I add my courses on the application, it asks for my grade with a +, -, or nothing at all. I’ve gotten an A in every course I’ve taken and have a 4.0 GPA but the college I went to doesn’t give grades with a plus or minus. What should I put for my course grades then? If I put just an A will that lower my GPA? Thanks.
Place exactly what is on your transcript. If the course is an A on the transcript put an A on the application. In most cases an A and A+ are seen to be equal; when they are not the A = 4.0 and the A+ = 4.33.

No it wont lower your GPA. “A” and “A+” both equal 4.0

UC will recalculate your college GPA according to this scale (weighting each grade by the amount of credit in the course):

It will not lower your GPA because the UC does not calculate A+ at the college level.
