On the CollegeBoard profile of Bing, it mentions that "geographical residence" is a considered admissions factor.

Does this mean they lean toward NYers or out-of-staters?

Hopefully this won't hurt in-staters like me :p

I thought about that too
I think they may lean towards accepting a higher percent of OOS so they can keep diversity up, but then again it is a SUNY so they want NY kids to go
idrk

I could be completely guessing here, but I’d think they’d want more OOSers because they pay higher tuition. I doubt it’ll hurt you in the long run, though; don’t worry.

Because it is funded by NYS taxpayers there is likely a cut-off or restriction on the number of OOS’s

It’s slightly easier to get in from OOS but it’s not a big deal.

Instate kids need MUCH higher SATs to get in than outstate, not just at Binghamton but any SUNY. It makes NY taxpayers very unhappy. Check any CC thread of the last few years where admitted students post stats; you can tell the lower SAT admits were out of state.
