Out-of-state admissions?

Hey there...I'm considering Binghamton as a less expensive alternative to the other, mostly private schools I'm applying to. I think it would be a good choice for me because of its English program, which I've heard good things about (my mom was an English major there ages ago, but I've also heard more recent positive opinions).

That said, I'm an out-of-stater (from PA) and I know that Binghamton has a very small percentage of non-New Yorkers. I was just wondering what difference that makes admission-wise. Since Binghamton has rolling admissions (right?) should I worry about getting the application in as early as possible or does it not generally make a difference?

Here's a quick run-down of my stats:

White female from a public high school outside Philly
GPA: 5.00 (weighted)
School doesn't give class rank
ACT Composite: 34
ACT Writing: 32
AP Literature and Composition - 5
AP Physics C: Mechanics - 4
AP US History - 5

So my basic question is whether I have anything to worry about as a prospective out-of-stater. Any info is appreciated. Thanks so much!

Quick note: I didn’t include my ECs because I didn’t think that was a big deal with state schools, but if you want to know, ask and I’ll tell  And feel free to ask me any other questions too!

Supposedly, OOS have a boost in admissions to Bing because they want you guys to pay the higher tuition. Even if you were instate, you have a good chance of acceptance with those stats.

Don’t worry about not fitting in or anything like that. I roomed with someone from NJ and am friends with someone else from there as well. There was a girl from Nevada in my hall last year. Since you’re from PA, you’ll almost certainly find someone from your state and from a bunch of different ones too if that’s what you’re searching for.

As for rolling admissions… Technically there are but most people hear back in late March/April anyway. Get it in early regardless, just to get it out of the way, but don’t expect a super fast reply. If they’ve reinstated EA admissions, I would apply under that.
