Interact Board Elections Tomorrow? Advcie/Help?

<p>At our school Interact is a community service club and it is one of the most prestigious and largest clubs at my school. I am a freshman but really want to be on the executive board. How do guarantee my self a spot and give a "great" speech?</p>

<p>Here are positions I can run for:</p>

<p>President: Organize meetings and event for the club. Must be a past board member.
Vice president: Attendance.
Secretary: Take notes at meetings of updates.
Community Service (2 positions): Contact event organizer with rosters and information updates.
Publicity: Make the calendar.
International: Foreign exchange.
Philanthropic: Organize fundraisers.
Treasurer: Keep track of funds.
Membership: Log event points and register members.
Scholarship: Allocate Interact scholarship award.
Reading Buddies (2 positions): Organize the reading buddies event (Likely to be removed or altered).
Ways and Means (2 positions): Refer to community service. More info tomorrow.
Student Council Representative: Must be student council member. Bridge between Interact and student council.
Webmaster: Maintain the Interact website.</p>

<p>Woah. There are a lot of positions. A “great” speech is one that’s not memorized and is one that is remembered, typically funny. </p>

<p>I agree, that seems to be a lot of positions. In my opinion, pick the position that you have the most skills and experience in. Also as for the speech, include your plan for the future and how you can help improve the club. Also you would want to mention your past skills and how you can apply that to the position. I agree with @classof2015hs, add some humor into your speech, and maybe get the audience involved in some way so they will willingly listen to your speech, and make an impression.
