Key Club Treasurer Speech

I'm running to be my Key Club's treasurer. I just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for what I can put in my speech. So far I am running unopposed. However, people can run on the spot if they want to (as long as they wrote their letters of intent and recommendation, of course). I just want to be ready with a good speech so that a person who runs on the spot won't win.
Here's what I have:
-I'm got at math.
-I'm organized.
-I have been in Key Club for two years.
-I am currently committee chair of the Programs committee.

How can I make that into an organized two-minute speech that will make people want to vote for me?

First of all appeal to their needs, find out what they want to hear and utilize that to your advantage. When you’re giving your speech, another thing you could do is adjust your body posture, speech and tone in order to get people to take you seriously. If you do all these things, you should be good for the speech.

Act confident while you’re speaking and try to memorize the speech so that you can make eye contact. What kind of community service do you do at Key Club?

Thanks guys!

@Foodlover001 The problem with my school’s Key Club is that we don’t do a lot of service projects, which kind of annoys me. That is part of the reason I want to be treasurer. That way, as a member of the board, I can try to get us more involved. We do one thing every year kind of like MIT Splash were we teach classes to the lower school kids.

If you win, what kind service projects do have in mind?

I’ve been looking into the ones on the Key Club website, like “Tape a teacher”, “Homeless shelter birthday parties”, or “Kid’s booth”. There’s a bunch of them that I find really cool and the club might enjoy too.

How many hours a week do you do community service? Sorry for all the questions, it’s just that I might want to try Key Club next year…

If you mean me as a person, I do one hour a week at a homeless shelter, mostly because I play basketball and take extra classes, which eats up a lot of my time. As a Key Club, like I said we don’t do a lot of service projects and community service. However, that may differ at your school, so don’t base your judgment on my Key Club. I suggest you do join Key Club. That way, if there is something you dislike, like I do, you can move up leadership-wise and change it.

Don’t forget to have 20 key club hours in the first semester. I ran for VP of Activities and I got the most votes, but I got ruled ineligible since I only have 19. Don’t forget to turn in your outside hours. I forgot to.

@ClassOf2015HS I don’t think my school does that, otherwise someone would have told us. Unless you count the morning meetings. I don’t think I’ve even had the opportunity to do 20 hours, lol. I’ve attended every event and almost every meeting though.

@collegeluva101 yea you probably have 20 hours. Apparently I guess they forget to “tell us”. You can get up to 5 hours from meetings, 5 hours from bringing in cans, and 10 outside hours. That’s how it works at my school’s key club.

Do you guys meet on the weekends to do community service, or is it all in-school?

On Weekends.
