So, I'm a freshman Psychology major and I want to transfer to the College of Communications to pursue a Journalism major. Currently I have a 2.4 GPA and I just got out of academic probation. Sad, I know. Anyways, do you think it would be reasonable for me to apply to CoC this upcoming Fall semester, or should I wait for the Spring when I can get my GPA higher?

Also: if I don't get accepted into CoC, can I re-apply?

Have all your final grades been posted for this semester? I’m not sure about journalism in particular but for some other majors in the comm school, you need a 2.25. Check the gpa requirement to apply to journalism and if you have it, I would go ahead and apply in the fall in october. Then final grades for the fall will be posted in December and you’ll find out the decision the first week of january. If you already know you want to switch to the comm school and you have the requirements needed, apply as soon as you can because the comm school is actually very difficult to get into if you’re an internal transfer

For this semester yeah, which gives me a 2.4 I’m taking J 310 and J 316 next semester. For Journalism the minimum is 2.25 as well, but I’m worried.
