Internal Transfer to Smit for a Third Major?

Hey all, I’m a freshman Econ/Government and Politics double major wanting to tack on a BS in Finance from Smith (for numerous reasons, including the possibility of joining the Business Law fellowship). I have a few questions about applying to Smith as an internal transfer:

  1. I have not yet declared my Economics major. Should I put off declaring until after I apply for Finance (in a year from now, after Fall 2015; I’d be applying in the spring of 2016)?

  2. If I declared Econ before I applied, would it weaken my application (already having two majors and applying for a third)?

  3. How certain can you be you’ll get in once you pass a GPA threshold? Do all or most candidates with 4.0’s and decent EC activity gain admission? Also, would being in the honors college be a factor in admission? (I just want to be somewhat sure before I take the benchmark classes)
