Hello, I am a freshman at NYU planning on applying to Smith in Fall 2018 for the Spring semester.
I understand that I need to complete Calc, Stats, and Intro to Accounting, but is it okay if I am in the middle of completing one of the gateway courses (stats) during the time that I am applying (in fall 2018)? Like by the time I get into UMD I will have completed the gateways but during the time that I apply, I’m in the process of completing the last gateway.
Is it possible to take Math for Econ as a gateway instead of calc? It has the same difficulty as calc (maybe harder) and is accepted as credits, but idk if it’s equivalent.
Also, would transferring from NYU make it easier for me to get accepted to Smith from NYU? Will I need a lower GPA than most other people?
I’ve emailed the admissions office and they haven’t replied. thanks a ton for your replies!
