I'm an international student (HS junior in US) and I really hope to get into Columbia. But obviously its harder for an international to get in than a citizen/green card holder.

So can anyone approximate how much more difficult (in terms of stats or anything) it will be for an Intl student than it is for a citizen/green card holder?

Plus any tips to be a "more competitive applicant?"

Thanks

Oh and would publishing a book/ebook be helpful in getting admitted to ivies? Cuz I actually want to do it…

Well, there are many intl’s at Columbia, but it is hard. The thing that makes it a tad harder is that they’re not need-blind for International students, so keep that in mind if you’re applying for FinAid.
A book would definitely boost your app, I think :)

I actually think that as international students we have a better opportunity at proving that we are imperative to the college’s diversity and I guess its more a matter of who, among the pool of internationals, can argue that best.

This is provided that all the other parts of your application are in line with Columbia’s standards

@Ntsoketsi999 Well Im building up my stats haha

And also does anyone know the acceptance rate for international students at Columbia?
