International Applicants from Germany

Hey, I´m a student from Germany who just finished school this year. I´m applying to several colleges in the States and for 5 of these I use the Common app. And exactly here the problem: Our school system in Germany differs from the American one so I have actually difficulties with filling out forms like the Midyear Form.
Now I like to know how other Germans did it or perhabs are going to do it?
I´d be pleased when other international applicants would like to answer, too; just don´t be shy! ;)

Thanks guys!

hey, we're sitting almost in the same boat :)

I'm from Switzerland and I just finished school this year too (a few days ago).

First of all, the Midyear from would have to be completed by your counselor/headmaster. However, since you already graduated from high school this becomes pretty obsolete... I think it would be enough if you give the School Report Form to your headmaster - no need for Midyear or Final Report here.

yeah, I thought so, too. But who knows what these colleges want to know.
Don´t they want to see our Abitur report ("Abitur Zeugnis") ?

Of course they do. But on the School Report Form there is a part where your "counselor" must fill in your Abi grades. In addition, you'll have to send a sealed copy of your Abitur Zeugnis along with the transcript and everything.

well, any one else with experience accounts?

Well, those who have already passed out high school, they are not required to fill in the mid-year report..
