International Applicants!!!

I'm not really considered an international applicant, I think, but I do have strong ties to Asia in particular, having lived there most of my life until the past few years, and have some friends there applying to boarding schools. It just suddenly struck me that the schools I'm applying to- NMH and Emma Willard- aren't very popular choices for most international applicants, who mostly apply to Andover, Exeter, but also more to more rigidly structured schools, especially with a formal dress code. Does anyone have any opinions as to why this is?

And if you're an international applicant, where are you applying to and why?

I'm genuinely interested in this topic!

I’m an international applicant too and I’m applying to: Andover, Exeter, Deerfield, Hotchkiss and Choate. My primary reason for choosing these schools is that they offer FA to internationals, most schools don’t. Deerfield and Exeter offer only limited aid but I think that if I get in to begin with I’m a strong applicant for intern. aid (no one else from my country applying, no students from my part of the world).

I’m pretty sure NMH has one of the highest enrollments (at least by percentage) of international students. We saw many when we were there in the fall.
