Did any international asking for financial aid get in? any?

Also: "you are a fine student with solid support from your teachers and advisors." Does everyone (everyone rejected) get this line or is it something personal? Thanks!

Everyone got this I assume.

i got that line. and i asked for fin aid, rejected

Great if everyone got it, I was afraid it might be something personal. "fine student" and "solid support" doesn't sound too great.

rejected...asked for aid...got that line too

hey same here! international + ask for aid = rejection

Waitlisted here

I know one guy in my school asked for aid and got in to Stanford, but he already got into Yale EA and MIT (full-ride need aid) so probably not attending Stanford.

waitlisted.. screw them, I'm not going to wait more. Almost 100% sure going to Cornell -- AEM baby!!! :D

same here .. rejected...

oh... I applied for aid ... and was accepted
haven't received the package yet, though...
wasn't expecting it, after being rejected by Ctech, MIT, Brandeis, Colgate and wlisted at Duke

ph1.89 congrats! Could you post your stats?

im international, didn't ask for aid, was rejected :(

well, in brief

SAT I: 2290 ( January ) - 790M+730CR+770 W
SAT II: 800 Math II+ 800 Physics + 800 Biology M
ACT: 33 (+6 essay)
GPA: ~9.7/10 (Romania)
Rank ~ first 20%
some ECs, mostly Science-related
awards : national physics olympiad; national astronomy olympiad; international physics olympiad (mention); first step to noble prize in physics - mention; nasa space settlement design competition-first prize; Russian open school astronomical olympiad - gold....

ph1.89: looks pretty impressive, congrats :) But what exactly do you mean with "first step to noble prize in physics", could you elaborate on that?

rejected here too and i asked for almost a full ride...not a wise choice :(

Congrats ph1.89 on the Stanford acceptance! My son is an international student asking for a virtual full ride, and has been accepted to Caltech, MIT, Duke and Amherst with extremely generous FA packages (small EFC). But he was waitlisted by Stanford, and rejected by UChicago and Swarthmore.

Good luck everybody for the other decisions on 31st.

Dr. Avrah: "first step to nobel prize in physics" is - I quote - an "International Competition for High School Students in Research Projects in Physics" organized by The Institute of Physics in the Polish Academy of Sciences. just google "first step ... in physics" to find the website.

IntlDad: I'm also asking for almost full aid and I was surprised Stanford accepted me, as they are not so generous .... Congratulations for your son - truly impressive... I envy him for having found out so early - march 6 - that he was accepted (as opposed to my having found out so early that I was rejected)

After long long waiting and killing us,finally my son got email, rejected
after deferred SCEA. It's almost impossible to get accepted with FA for international. My son was a gold medalist of IChO last year. can't believe.
Anyway he was in MIT, Johns Hopkins and waiting for
Harvard, Princeton next Mon.

WOW gold medalist of IChO rejected?????? O.O Stanford doesn't know what it is missing

good luck with the rest kotopia
