International Relations at UC Davis

Hi, UC Davis right now is one of my top choices for college. I’m majoring in International Relations and would like to do track 4. I’m also really interested in Middle Eastern history so I want to focus around that.

Can anyone tell me about their experience

  1. just in general. if you liked the program and if it really prepared you for what you want to do in the future.

  2. with professors. Were they helpful, good in their fields, understanding…

  3. with internships. I’m really interested in the Washington D.C. program but I want to know how easy or hard it was to get internships if you did get any.

  4. academic rigor. i was at dinner with my mom and her friend and my mom’s friend was telling me that UC Davis’s students have the lowest average college GPA out of all the other UC’s (not talking about high school GPA but their GPA once they’re in college). I don’t know how true this is but if anyone could let me know their experience.

  5. getting classes. one thing I’m super scared about is not being able to pick my classes. I’ve heard that a lot of the math/science classes at Davis fill up really quickly, but did you have trouble getting the classes you wanted?

  6. I stumbled upon this website: http://ir.ucdavis.edu/the-major/three-year-plan and was really impressed. if I could graduate in 3 years, that would save me a ton of money. Has anyone done this, and do you think it was worth it to graduate in 3 years? or did you feel super overwhelmed and not feel like you had the complete college experience?

@allied123 dude I have the same question. My mom is really worried about what I am gonna do with international relations major. Do u have any idea of any kind of GOOD job I can find with this degree?
